A cop tale mystified by the community patrols' hunt for a lion that some kid stole. It's really hard to see where the movie is going, which is what makes it so fun. The Mali-born director sees French immigrant neighborhoods with a certain danger, an uprising brimming up among the youth, caught in a struggle similar to the refugee camps' in Children of Men. Does good triumph natural evil? Up to you.
