Skyscraper is a gritty action film with Brosnan-era James Bond machine gun fire, S.W.A.T.-like macho, and a Die Hard-inspired plot line--all with the Jurassic World mentality of over-the-top technology bravado and China-Hollywood super-funding. It's almost a sci-fi film but who's to say it is if the concept is all rooted in the ground. "Rock" Johnson proves he's the best man for numbing action.
