One thing Plane does right is dismiss any obligation to include a backstory about its incarcerate antihero. His actions that continue the plot tell enough. It's a straightforward ransom adventure film with a series of variables conveniently strung together—and it's full of railgun-sized holes—but it's a thrill ride smelling of gunpowder. One can laugh at the pilot's choices while cheering him on.
