The current state of movies sometimes feels that perhaps we have all run out of ideas, but this film proves fresh things can be produced. Gloria Bell has Chilean Lelio direct this unromantic-comedy with the American Southwest as the grand setting for an Odyssey in a woman's mid-life single crisis. Moore's sarcastic energy effectively carries the story's pessimistic poetry of being stuck in a rut.
