Adrift's parallel plot line a-la Dunkirk at some point starts to feel like style for style's sake, but an impressive special effects sequence is a welcome pay-off. The film is too smart to have to explain everything, but you could say it's easy digestion for all audiences. The wanderlust love tale is one cheesy plot with cheesier music, but it's also a sincere tearjerker.Something new here.
