A decade ahead of its time, Contagion hits all the notes of the breakdown of an epidemic to complete relevance. While the disease in the film is a deadlier version of what we got with COVID-19, it's missing the high stakes of a Donald Trump leader of the free world, exhuming the feeling of a real-life dystopian nightmare. Conclusively it is more of a cautionary tale than probably intended.
