Looking back at Lynch's tale of mirrored surrealism is evidence at the auteur's influence on rock and metal music videos for the decades to come. One can see how the director might have configured a narrative as a release for the existential terror that haunted him at night. At one point dated as 90's cheese, it looks cool all over again. Some rock cameos show he was already kids in the scene.
