台湾と日本の合同の映画
「青春18×2 君へと続く道」の劇中で
主人公の二人が観ていて、
いつか観たいなと思っていた。

そんな中、劇場での4K公開があって
願ってもないということで観てきた。

監督が撮りたい画と
当時の機材の限界が随所に見えて
ところどころで酔いそうになった。

メールもSNSもスマホも
携帯電話ですら普及していなかった時代。
全てがゆっくりで、
返事を待つ間のドラマが成立していた。

日本の映画の画作りが
この映画を起点にガラリと変わったんだなと
改めて感じた。

中山美穂さんが限りなく美しかった。

映画館で観ることができて
本当に良かった。

It’s a Taiwanese-Japanese co-produced film called ‘My Missing Valentine’ (Seishun 18×2: The Road to You), and in the story, the two main characters watch this film. That made me want to see it someday.

Then, there was a special 4K screening at a theater—an opportunity I couldn’t pass up, so I went to see it.

You could clearly see both the shots the director wanted to capture and the limitations of the equipment at the time, and some scenes even made me feel a bit dizzy.

It was an era when email, social media, smartphones, and even mobile phones weren’t widely used. Everything moved slowly, and stories unfolded during the time spent waiting for a reply.

I realized again how this film marked a turning point in Japanese cinematography and changed how films were visually crafted.

Miho Nakayama was indescribably beautiful.

I’m truly glad I got to see it in a movie theater.
