Few films have focused on the psychological reactions to death as poignantly as The Son's Room. Whereas its often a mere plot-point in even the saddest films, death is the main character here. Director Moretti's genuine performance as the grieving father psychoanalyst has us witness all the familial facets of loss, managing to find silver linings along with a balanced, minimalized soundtrack.
