Scott directs another engaging epic, in the form of an international hostage situation involving the world's wealthiest man. Plummer is perfect here, Spacey is too young for it; glad he's out. The film takes an interesting turn when the mobster's soft side comes central to the story. A fresh piece of cinema that shines with Scott's style. Don't let its seemingly ordinary appearance dissuade you.
