「選択肢のない凄まじさ　The merciless reality of having no choice」ステラ　ヒトラーにユダヤ人同胞を売った女　新米エヴァンゲリストさんの映画レビュー（感想・評価）

ここ一年の間に
24年5月公開の「関心領域」
24年8月公開の「ぼくの家族と祖国の戦争」
24年12月公開の「ホワイトバード　はじまりのワンダー」
で、25年2月公開のこの作品。

いずれも、共通するのはナチスドイツ。

あまり意識せずに観て来たが、
別の監督、
別の演者なんだけど、
ナチスドイツの描かれ方に
あまりにも差がなかったのが、
振り返って、多少ショックだ。

やっぱり、ある意味、
あの時期、狂っていたんだと。

今作は、その恐怖から、なんとか逃れようとして
同胞を売ると言う行為に出た一人の女性の生涯だ。

2度自殺を図り、2度目で目的を遂げてしまった。
インターネットもSNSもない時代、
彼女への批判は、
真綿で首を絞めるが如く、
ゆっくりと彼女を蝕んでいったのではないか
と想像する。
その間10年の月日が流れていた。
死の2年前、告発本が出版されていた。

観終わってから、
彼女がもし、今を生きていたら、
どうなっていたんだろうか？
と考えが巡って終わらない時がある。

今やっている「御上先生」というドラマの中に
一つの解があったようにも感じている。
本当の悪人はその場にはいなかった。

でもこの作品は、
しばらくは頭から離れないんだろう。

“Stella: A Life” – The Woman Who Sold Her Fellow Jews to Hitler
“Astounding”

Within the past year, I’ve watched:
• The Zone of Interest (May 2024)
• My Father’s War (August 2024)
• White Bird (December 2024)
• And now, Stella: A Life (February 2025).

All of these films share a common theme—Nazi Germany.

I hadn’t consciously sought them out, but in retrospect, I’m somewhat shocked by how uniformly Nazi Germany has been portrayed. Different directors, different actors, yet the depiction remains strikingly consistent.

It makes me realize, in a way, just how truly deranged that era was.

This film follows the life of a woman who, in an attempt to escape that terror, chose to betray her fellow Jews.

She attempted suicide twice, succeeding on the second attempt.
In an era without the internet or social media, criticism against her must have been like a tightening noose—slowly, steadily suffocating her.
A decade passed before she took her own life. Two years before her death, a book exposing her actions was published.

After watching, I couldn’t stop wondering—if she had lived in today’s world, what would have happened to her?

In the current drama Mikami-sensei, I feel like I found one possible answer:
The true villains were not in that moment in time.

And yet, I know this film will linger in my mind for a long time.
