あの当時の空気感をヒシヒシと感じた。

本当に未知であった
原子爆弾を創り上げていくとは？
その過程の緊張感、
手計算で、原子爆弾で何が起こるのか？
実験しても良いのか？
爆発によって
そんな可能性も示唆されていたと
驚く場面もあった。
アインシュタインに
可能性について意見を求める場面もあった。

世界初の原子爆弾の実験
トリニティ実験の行われていく過程、
準備の緊張感、
未明の嵐が去り、カウントダウン、
地上に現れた核の焔は
今の我々はその恐ろしさを知っているが
映画では、悪魔的な美しさで描かれた。

未知の領域に突っ込んでいく
優秀な頭脳達の熱狂ぶりは
その先が未知数という意味では
今のAIの開発競争を彷彿とさせた。

I could feel the atmosphere of that time vividly.

Creating an atomic bomb—something truly unknown at the time—how did they go about it?
The tension throughout the process,
the calculations done by hand to determine what would happen with an atomic bomb,
the question of whether it was even acceptable to conduct an experiment,
and the shocking realization that such possibilities had been considered—
there were moments that left me astonished.
There was even a scene where they sought Einstein’s opinion on the potential outcomes.

The world’s first atomic bomb test, the Trinity test—
the tense preparations,
the storm clearing before dawn,
the countdown,
and then, the nuclear flame that erupted on the surface of the Earth.
We, in the present, know its terrifying consequences,
but in the film, it was depicted with a demonic beauty.

The frenzy of brilliant minds plunging into the unknown
reminded me of the current race in AI development—
an endeavor where the future remains uncertain.
