While one will miss Noe's extremities in this straightforward play on the process of a couples' aging away from the world, it's also hard to ignore the wish that he could direct every movie. The realism assisted by caliber actors and sets results in a more in-your-face experience than that of A Ghost Story or The Father. Noe throws honest nihilism, the absence of an afterlife suggested by the son.
