Daniel is the story of a gymnast-cum-journalist who finds himself captured by ISIS in Syria upon a good deed photo shoot in the war zone. He's tortured along with renowned journalist James Foley while is family in Denmark scrambles to find ransom money. In the grand scheme the film's conclusion is as gut-wrenching as the protagonist's experience. A painful reminder of the mess the "West" must fix.
