"Hell or High Water" is directed by David Mackenzie and stars Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, Ben Foster and Gil Birmingham, and so on. I watched it on Netflix cos it hasn't come out here in Japan yet except on Netflix. Reading some reviews of this film on the internet, I'd been really curious and wondering how Jeff Bridges acts as a sheriff this time and how crazy things the two scoundrels, played by Chris Pine and Ben Foster, have done as like cowboys. Well this kinda story is not really a new idea that the thefts are done by two brothers as usual: one can't control his temper and is more likely to go nuts than the other who just supports his older brother. It sounds like a cliche but the atmosphere is different from other crime films. Frankly speaking, it's a bit similar to No Country for Old Men winning an Oscar for Best Picture in 2007, but there is only one crazy killer flipping one coin to decide whether to kill or not every time he encounters someone. Whereas in Hell or High Water, it focuses on not only the robbery but also their relationship between these brothers. Hope Jeff Bridges will win an Oscar again.
