Two criticisms arise in the second installment of the Potter marathon: the booby-trapped mystery to the basement is nearly a repeat of the first go, and some visual sequences with squeaky monsters burden the film with the Ewok treatment. Otherwise, wonderous set decor and a dozen top class British actors' strong performances solidify this episode to a theatrical tale that engaged us for a decade.
