個人的には福田雄一監督のテイストは好きだ。

喜劇の即興劇を作品にしていく
そのいい意味でのマンネリズムは
古典落語のような芸能の域になっていると
個人的には思っている。

なので、自力や即興性に優れる人じゃないと
恐らく怖くて出演できないと思う。

各シーンのオモシロは、
相当高度な即興喜劇だと
観ていて思った。

個人技は十分に楽しめたが、
誰もが知る幕末、
誰もが知る実在の人物、
そして実際に起こったことを描くには
まとまりがないと感じた。

かつては、この手法が目新しく
先端を行っていたと思う。

ただ、マネされて、
目新しさは減っていった。

ここ数年、芸人さんの書く脚本ドラマで
凄いものが出てきた。
アドリブ様に見えるやり取り
笑いを生む間、性格など、
登場人物のキャラクターが立った上で
質の高い喜劇を展開されると、
かなり分が悪い。

今回は幕末という史実が素材で、
ところどころ、真面目な部分があるのだけれど
即興をやりすぎて、
人物の良いセリフが（実際に言ったことと伝わること）
上滑りして、
面白いかもしれないけれど、キツイな
と思ってしまった。

Personally, I like Yuichi Fukuda’s style.

Turning improvisational comedy into a finished work—
that kind of repetition, in the best sense,
has reached the level of a performing art,
something akin to classical rakugo,
or so I think.

Because of that, unless an actor has strong fundamentals
and excels at improvisation,
it would probably be terrifying to take part.

The humor in each scene felt, as I watched,
like highly sophisticated improvisational comedy.

I enjoyed the individual performances very much, but
when dealing with the Bakumatsu period that everyone knows,
with real historical figures everyone recognizes,
and with events that actually took place,
I felt the work lacked cohesion.

There was a time when this approach felt fresh
and genuinely ahead of its time.

But as it was imitated,
that sense of novelty gradually faded.

In recent years, some remarkable scripted dramas written by comedians have emerged.
When you see exchanges that look improvised,
timing that naturally creates laughter,
and comedy built on firmly established characters,
the result is high-quality humor—
and in comparison, this approach is at a real disadvantage.

This time, the Bakumatsu period and historical fact are the raw material,
and there are moments that try to be serious,
but the improvisation goes too far.
As a result, lines that should define the characters—
words that were actually spoken, or are believed to have been spoken—
end up skimming the surface.

It may be funny,
but I found it hard to take.
