Fincher crafts a lone dark oddysey in The Killer. A stone cold Fassbender presides as the freelance hitman on an international sleuthing rampage to find who brought personal indemnity to his execution slipup. The grisly spirit of Se7en and Mindhunter toll in this determined parallel to Michael Mann's Thief. Exquisitely filmed and stylishly paced, it's a bonafide portrayal of capitalistic evil.
