As the world teeters on the edge of World War III, what could be more timely than an adeptly produced day-in-the-life World War I experience. Unlike most war films, All Quiet treats the war spectacle like its the weather. It's a slow rural life experience punctuated with bloody drama. Collecting dog tag duty is quite a bad trip! Ocassionally stylish music. There is no other film like it this year.
