芝居という表現の凄まじさThe Fierce Power of Theatrical Expression
個人的には主演の瀧内公美さんは、
ドラマ「大豆田とわ子と三人の元夫」での女優役で
初めて知った。
しかもNetflixで見たので、
世間よりもずいぶん後だ。
ずいぶん綺麗な人だなと思って
調べてみたら、
話題になって、自分が観に行けなかった映画に
出ていたことがわかった。
すごい女優さんなんだろうなと思っていたが、
そんな自分の小さな想像は遥かに越えていた。
一人芝居の映画というのは
わかって観に行ったけれど、
中盤以降、登場していないはずの人物の造形が
目の前に浮かんでくるほどに
その表現に圧倒された。
ここ最近の、日本の演技技術って
めちゃくちゃ上がっているように感じていて、
それを証明する作品だと思う。
映画館の大きな画面で見て欲しい作品。
Personally, I first learned about lead actress Kumi Takiuchi through her role as an actress character in the drama “My Dear Exes” (Omameda Towako and Her Three Ex-Husbands).
And even that was through Netflix, so I discovered her much later than most people.
I remember thinking how beautiful she was, and when I looked her up, I found out she had appeared in a film that had become a hot topic—one I had missed seeing in theaters.
I figured she must be an amazing actress, but that small assumption of mine was utterly blown away.
I went into the film knowing it was a one-woman show, but by the second half, the presence of characters who weren’t even on screen felt so vivid, I could almost see them in front of me.
That’s how overwhelming her performance was.
Lately, I feel like Japanese acting has dramatically leveled up, and this film is clear proof of that.
It’s a work that absolutely deserves to be seen on the big screen.
