Touch is the first to make a period piece out of the COVID epidemic while it contrasts with the radiation poisoning of the Hiroshima disaster, two events that punctuate the plot here. Balance that with the shared experiences of an immigrated odd-couple: a young Icelander and Japanese working a restaurant in 70's London, and you have an interesting cocoction of tough love across the earth and ages.
