Cage is back in one of his most unique roles. His performance is dialed up to full crazy as he portrays a demonic murderer, more iconically than the clown from It. It’s not just the prosthetics that make him unrecognizable. Stylistically, the film follows the two-decade-long trend of imitating ’70s grindhouse, but its atmosphere is far creepier and more effective than many of its contemporaries.
