Released just before the election, Apprentice is a savvy-eyed look at the young president-to-be. Sebastian Stan's performance of Trump is by far the best of the myriad of impersonations over the years. One would think the man himself could appreciate it. Demoralizing events onscreen will make even detractors wish the film really is a so-called "hatchet job." Roy Cohn's AIDS story was news to me.
