This lucid French-directed anime is a talky musing on the descent into middle age life, a revisit to Linklater's Waking Life with the psycho-spiritual elements of a Miyazaki film. It was actually shot and animated similarly to the former, and instead of one character visiting different dreams, it's an anthology film based on Murakami's short stories. A welcome reflection on life's mundanity.
