Last Duel is a Francophied Rashomon, examining the case of a rape in three perspectives. What results is human progress in the form of masculinized feminism. Affleck and Damon adapt a story that's as crude as Old English; a man risks burning his defiled wife at the stake to prove God's glory and fight the perpetrator to the death. The titular duel is one of the best movie fights for decades.
