「レッドベリーの凄さは少し伝わったが・・・・　I got a slight sense of how great Lead Belly was, but…」ロックの礎を築いた男　レッド・ベリー　ビートルズとボブ・ディランの原点　新米エヴァンゲリストさんの映画レビュー（感想・評価）

全体的に造りが雑に感じてしまった。
（申し訳ありません）
当然レッドベリーのことを知っている人が、
さらに補足で見る映画だと感じました。

せめて、レッドベリーの前後でどれだけ音楽が変わったか、
それまでの音楽はこんな感じだった
が数分でも挿入されれていれば印象が変わったかも。

21世紀の人間の視点で見ると、
レッドベリーの新しさは
変革ぶりは、
後世のミュージシャンに与えた影響は
この映画だけでは正直理解できなかった。
（これは自分の音楽経験の多寡も関係ある）

日本には優れた音楽番組がたくさんあり
ミュージシャンを深掘りする回が非常に優れているので
それからすると本映画は
かなり見劣りする。

何より「ちょっと・・・」
と感じたのは日本語字幕。

文字の小ささと、
切り替わるタイミングの違和感が。

お世辞にも読みやすいものではなかった。

将来的に日本の音楽番組が
（いくつかの番組が浮かんでいる）
レッドベリーを取り上げる方が
はるかに良いものが出来ると思う。

関係者の証言集の域を出ていない
と個人的には感じました。

Overall, I felt the film was rather poorly put together.
(I apologize for being blunt.)

It felt like a film meant for those who already know about Lead Belly, as a sort of supplementary piece.

At the very least, if the film had included even just a few minutes showing how music changed before and after Lead Belly—like, “this is what music sounded like before”—it might have left a different impression.

From the perspective of someone living in the 21st century, the novelty of Lead Belly, the extent of his innovation, and the influence he had on later musicians were honestly hard to grasp from this film alone.
(Of course, my own level of musical experience may also play a role.)

In Japan, we have many excellent music programs, and their deep dives into musicians are often outstanding. Compared to those, this film falls quite short.

What bothered me the most, though, was the Japanese subtitles.

The small font size and the awkward timing of the transitions made them far from easy to read.

I truly believe that if Japanese music programs—(a few specific shows come to mind)—were to feature Lead Belly in the future, they would produce something far superior.

To me, this film did not go beyond the level of a simple collection of testimonies from people involved.
