宗教の役割とは？
信仰とは？
その中心で一体何が起こっているのか？

宗教上のリーダーを決めるとはいえ、
そのやりとりはどこまでも政治的だ。
周知の候補がいて、
出る出ないのやりとりがあり、
いろんな事が起こり、
ラストへ向かって行く。

この作品の中で、
宗教者としての矜持なのか、
その宗教界での慣例なのか、
宗教とは？が問われる場面がクライマックスになる。

途中から、
これはイエスが十字架にかけられた
ローマ総督ピラトの時代なのか？
本当に現代を舞台にしているのか？
よく分からなくなった。

慣習や教義に疑義を唱える、
それに抗うゆえに、
その者は十字架にかけられる。

この映画で十字架に架けられたのは
一体誰なんだろう？
とその疑問が頭の中をぐるぐるしている。

What is the role of religion?
What is faith?
What exactly is happening at its very core?

Even though the purpose is to select a religious leader,
the entire process is deeply political.
There are well-known candidates,
debates over who will run or withdraw,
various events unfold,
and the story heads toward its climax.

In this film, there’s a climactic moment where the question “What is religion?” is raised—
whether it’s a matter of religious pride
or merely tradition within the faith.

At some point, I began to wonder:
Is this set in the time of Pontius Pilate,
when Jesus was crucified by the Roman governor?
Or is it really set in the present day?
It became increasingly unclear.

Those who question tradition or doctrine,
those who resist it,
are the ones who end up being crucified.

So, who was crucified in this film?
That question keeps swirling in my mind.
