Nomadland might not have meant to be the critical hit it was, but in a worldwide crisis, the character central to this story doesn't feel so far off. There isn't much story to extract here--rather it's a day in the life on the road comparable to journey in Into the Wild. Zhao's editing is the best part, providing snippets of everyday life--making you believe your own world could be a hit movie.
