As an Asian Studies major, and having lived in South Korea for some months, I had only a couple people mention the coud d'etat that happened in the 1980's. It's interesting to see this subject covered in a mainstream Korean film here--a civic duty hero's tale--when there's a worldwide trend for films on state affairs to fall in line to nationalistic bravado. Has a few plot holes.
